Things That Destroy a Marriage
-
Money
Once of the most sensitive issues in marriage is Money and many people don’t talk about it. This is especially true if one person is working and the other is not, or if one person has no idea how the other’s money is being spent. Budgeting and working through the finances together usually takes care of any financial strain.

Infidelity
Unfaithfulness in a marriage can be very disastrous and undoubtedly can result in divorce. Infidelity in a marriage destroys trust and brings with it a sense of betrayal. Extramarital affairs can threaten the foundation on which a marriage is built. Betraying your spouse can cause severe damage to the relationship or lead to divorce. Nevertheless, marriages can survive infidelity and sometimes the subsequent healing process may even strengthen the relationship, if you both agree to work together in the process of overcoming the pain and betrayal. However, it takes time and patience after this kind of a betrayal for a marriage to be restored back to health — if at all.

Serious illness
A serious illness can allow you to see that a spouse really has your back in ways that you may not realize in a healthy, day-to-day existence. Whether it’s a hospitalization after a car accident or a bout with cancer, you and your spouse can show each other what you don’t usually get to—that you’re there through thick and thin.
Taking care of a sick parent is, in many ways, affects marriage as is like introducing a new baby into the family. Caring for this ill parent takes time, energy, and money away from the couple.
-
Communication
A marriage without communication can be a source of great unhappiness. Without communication, it’s almost impossible for two people to maintain a loving relationship, irrespective of what else is in place. A lack of communication can be devastating to many aspects of a marriage, and can lead to separation or divorce. On the other hand, good communication keeps a marriage going healthy and strong, and both persons respect and get to know each other even more as they reach out to each other.
5. Holding on to the past.
It’s hard to focus on the present when you’re busy living in the past. And this is especially true in a romantic relationship, as your complete and undivided emotional and physical presence are required in order to make things work. If you want your current relationship to last, leave the past in the past and let go of the things that are holding you back.
