Becoming a Mother ! When a child is born, the woman’s life changes a lot. For the first time, pretty much everything is about the little baby.
A child gives life a completely different turn. When a woman becomes a mother, hardly anything is as it was before. The baby needs its mom to thrive physically and mentally. Already during pregnancy and intensified towards the end of pregnancy, when the birth is imminent, many women wonder what will change with children,
Becoming a Mother! The baby sets the pace

The newborn has its individual, natural rhythm to which the mom has to adapt. The baby has its own biorhythm, eating, and sleeping times. Babies still sleep a lot, but some babies seem to have an inverted day-night rhythm after birth: during the day they sleep for hours at a time, at night they are more alert and want to be breastfed or carried more. That will take care of itself over time. The changeover takes just a little bit. In the early days, the days are very much geared to the baby’s hunger. Especially during growth spurts, you should and should always drink as needed, and that can be hourly!
Becoming a Mother: Lack of sleep in new mothers
Some babies sleep better at night, others worse. There are also phases in which the little ones wake up more at night because they are sick, have not worked through the day properly, teething, etc. Most of the time, babies cry at night because they need food. This is a good thing, and the little ones continue to sleep in peace. Getting back to sleep can be a problem for some mothers because not everyone can get back to sleep as quickly as their little one. Lack of sleep robs energy and can take a lot of tubing in the long run.
Changes in the partnership after birth
Woman and man became mother and father. The roles have changed. Some couples feel like they have been transported back to the 1950s when it comes to understanding roles, and this can be very different from the original ideas and agreements. The “new mothers” and the “new fathers” have to deal with this. In addition, sex life usually changes because exhaustion, lack of time, no desire for sex, the constant thoughts of the child, and fear of pain can lead to a temporary calm in bed.
Financial loss as a young mother
Young mothers do not get a full-time salary, although they definitely do more than one full-time job and have to live on less money. Some are financially dependent on their partner. Some young mothers don’t like this feeling at all.
Fear, the loss of old contacts, hardly any spontaneous meetings with friends, little time for yourself, having your head constantly with the baby, and still not feeling like a good mother, describe many young mothers as serious changes. Fortunately, most mothers, except those who regret their motherhood, feel compensated by their little darlings for all the hardships. And the most important change as a mother is probably the experience of these wonderful feelings of happiness that the little ones trigger!
